Common Wealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM)

 

National Informatics Centre has been identified for participation in the network of Training Institutes in India to be positioned as Common Wealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) Regional Centre.

 

CAPAM, with its headquarters at Toronto, Canada, is a non-profit academic association dedicated to strengthening public management and consolidating democracy and good governance throughout the commonwealth. Secretary, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions is a member of the CAPAM Board of Directors on behalf of Government of India. Department of Personnel and Training, under the ministry, is the coordinating agency in India.

 

The scope for CAPAM Regional Centre includes :

 

-          To provide web based learning and resources network on line for sharing training material, dissemination of research findings, run distant learning courses etc.

 

-          To enable schools of public administration and public service practitioners keep abreast of new developments, best practices and trends in the areas of public administration and management including capacity building.

 

NIC’s contribution in the CAPAM Regional Centre would be as follows:

 

-          Capacity building in organizing training programmes in Management of e-Governance Application & Services programmes.

 

-          Provide services like video Conferencing and webinars (Web based Seminars involving interaction through desk tops of the participants)

 

-          Technology support in development of portal of networked services by integrating them with Web casting, Web meetings etc.
